I miss keeping track of High school football since I moved to Oz. We moved from a small Iowa town (5,000 pop) called Harlan to Arizona just before my high school years.
My dad was an English teacher who became best friends with the high school football coach. He recently retired 1 year after a serious/rare illness. The guy racked up double digit state championships after 25+? years of coaching at the 3-A level (Iowa only goes up to a 4-A level). I still remember some of the guys that won him his 1st state title by my junior year.
Glad that story impacted someone Aaron.
