LA look good as they chowdown on Boston

Great game, and made all that much better for LA fans by the 92-86 win, although Celtics fans would be happy with Ray Allen taking the 3pt record.  The game featured solid leads by both teams, and mid-way through the second LA looked in danger of letting this one slip by.

But the end of the 2nd saw the Lakers take a sizeable bite out of the Celtics lead, and in the third that bite turned into a lead.  Boston would threaten, and they closed the gap several times… but LA ran out eventual 6 point winners (note: I had them winning by 8!).

Some things that were evident throughout the game were…

  • Kobe Bryant really put pay to the “clutch” debate in this game.  He was excellent throughout the key moments of the game.
  • The early 70s throwback jerseys looked awesome.
  • The size advantage that LA enjoyed.  Boston simply couldn’t cope with Bynum/Gasol/Odom.  Punters should take the “Melo-for-Bynum rumours” as simply an attempt by the Nuggets to bump up the price for New York… who LA take on tomorrow!
