Just a quick post (just got home a little bit ago, and absolutely exhuasted, not to mention busy...
As far as not having 3-Point Shooters:
I don't see why starting off with more TP would matter. If anything, it might help them get SPs in their main attribute quicker.
Proficiencies:
I haven't read too much into detail about them (and I'm still confused on why Kazz deviated from what we had originally discussed that day in the Mibbet chat), but from what I have briefly read, all they do is refund you 1 TC each time you train one of your 3 proficiency attributes (and you have to keep all 3 within 20% of each other). In West league, where it resets every season (again, haven't had time to read too much into detail, so I could be wrong), I feel that the only need for proficiencies would be to not have to train Endurance to 30-35. I know how much faster a player can train with GR and WoW, and it seems like having a proficiency would be similar to having 1 SP in GR, without having to actually use a SP (or the two extra in the Role Player tree, assuming you aren't already putting SPs there). The problem is that you have to keep all 3 attributes within 20% of each other, so if you have (for example) a level 3 player chem, then you would have to have 169 in your main and 136 in your secondary and tertiary attributes.
Since each season in West you rollback to twice your base attributes, that means, at best, you would have around 60 in your primary, secondary, and tertiary attributes (using something like a 7'2" F with Defense, Blocking, Rebounding, Dunking, and/or Leadership). That would mean you would already have to train 100+ in your primary, and 70+ in the other two. This just does not seem worth it, sim value wise (assuming what we know about the calculations is relatively accurate), since the bonuses from higher chem levels is much greater than an extra SP or two.
Once again, this is just a quick post with some simple math and nothing to really back it up.
